The Support Centre in Łódź

This is the Princes Lubomirski Foundation’s own facility being built. It will be on the Foundation’s premises located in the centre of Łódź. The appropriate place is already prepared; discussions with the Municipal Social Welfare Centre in Łódź, which will provide the Foundation with its support as for factual terms and formalities in the organization of the centre, are being held.
The Foundation’s plans include the creation of the support centre for people affected due to domestic violence. The project becomes part of the continuation of the broadly defined family charitable activities. The scale of the phenomenon is difficult to estimate. Domestic violence is often hidden, even by those affected. Often, terrified and embarrassed by their own situation. They are driven by fear, which cannot seek professional help. They are not able to break out of vicious circle themselves.
The facility, which is being built, will be a place where victims can get professional help, mainly psychological, and legal. An employee of the Foundation will take care of the victims; will help in taking first steps in order to break the cycle of violence. He/She will indicate the next steps that will help the victims to regain their dignity. Help will be provided free of charge, so anyone, even the poor will be able to take advantage of it. The centre will be available for everyone.
We want the work of the Foundation to include the widest possible area of ​​activity so that help for the needy will be provided in various fields. The authorities of the Foundation would like to help, if possible, also in the most delicate and difficult issues. Every injured person is a different story. The vastness of suffering can be unimaginable. That is why the Foundation has decided to initiate work in this direction.
Victims of domestic violence are often children. The Foundation remembers about them in these difficult times. A modern playground where children can safely enjoy their time under the care of adults will be built on the support centre premises. Perhaps, it will allow some of them, even for a moment, to forget about a terrifying reality. Perhaps, it will allow them to overcome fear and pain and begin life anew. Free from suffering.
